Lizzie would like to announce the arrival of her new friends-the African Dwarf Frogs!

She was finally able to get out of her tizzie, realize that she is not the only animal at the Lounge and has accepted that she will always be our number ONE class pet. (The fact that she will always stay with us and her new frog friends will be sold and going home or to school with you has helped soften the blow too!)

And not just any frogs! Check out these Wild Creations EcoAquariums! The frogs live in their aquarium with a friendly housekeeper, the snail, and only require feeding twice a week. They play in their environment and it stays clean for six months! (Wish my house was as easy to take care of.)

It sure felt like Christmas this weekend, not because of the cool temperatures in August but because of all the deliveries at the end of the week. It was so fun opening box after box to see what was shipped to our store. New products arrrived and tons of the old favorites. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning, guessing what would be unwrapped in the next box and surveying all the prized treasures!
The weather reminds me that autumn is right around the corner and this week will see our seasonal wall change in the store. Not quite Christmas yet, thank goodness! But a welcome to Fall.
Our Lounge Lizard Lizzie is still waiting for our friends in the big brown box to make their debut out front. I think she smells a change in the air too!

We had a great story hour today at The Teachers' Lounge. We read books about making friends and keeping friends. Good thing Big Smelly Bear decided to take a bath or I don't know how many friends he was going to keep!

Lizzie, our Lounge Lizard is figuring out how to make friends with what showed up in the big brown box yesterday. She is still a bit in a tizzie but getting used to the idea of sharing HER space. I did let the secret out of the bag (or should I say box) at our two story hours this week so our smallest customers found out what was hiding in the big brown box.

Registration is required and opens up on Monday at noon each week and the event is FREE. Sign up online, by calling the store or ask for the story hour registration book while shopping at the store. We have been offering story hours to the community since our store opened two years ago and it has been a huge success. Give it a try on a Monday or Thursday morning at 10:30am.

So, Lizzie our Lounge Lizard is getting a bit worried. She has been our "class" pet at the store for two years now and then today happened. Something showed up in a big brown box and she doesn't know what to think. Make sure you look closely at your next visit or stay tuned to find out what has Lizzie in a tizzie....

Happy 2nd Birthday Lizzie! It was two years ago today that St. Louis was finally able to meet you. I think it's a great time of year for a Lounge Lizard to have a birthday! So many customers fill the store just to see you before school starts!
