Special Event with Santa Join us for a special Santa's Story Hour on Saturday, Dec. 12th at 10:30AM! We'll read some great Christmas stories, make a keepsake ornament, and visit with Santa. Bring your own camera to take some great pictures and grab a special Christmas goodie bag.
The cost for this event is only $5.00 per child. Please call 314-894-7000 to reserve your spot because space is limited.

December Story Hours Story hours at The Teachers' Lounge are highly interactive 1/2 hour sessions that focus on a selected weekly theme. Each story hour is filled with stories, games, songs, fingerplays, and art activities that promote early childhood skills for children ages 2-6. Parents are asked to stay within the store while children are participating in this activity.
Registration for story hours opens at noon on Monday for the following week. Just call the store at 314-894-7000 to register.
December 3rd: Christmas Countdown

Tis the start of the Season! We will begin our Holiday Month reading Henry Bear’s Christmas by David McPhail, A Merry Little Christmas by Mary Engelbreit and Two Christmas Mice by Corinne Demas. We will make a Santa Banner that will help us mark the days until Christmas.

December 7th & 10th: Christmas Trees

Join us as we read The Crunchy Munchy Christmas Tree by Karen Gray Ruelle, Who Would Like a Christmas Tree? by Ellen Bryan Obed and Patrick’s Christmas Tree by Geoffrey Hayes. We will make and decorate our own beautiful trees!

December 14th and 17th: Gingerbread Friends

Christmas Day is almost here! Can you smell the cookies baking? Join us as we read Gingerbread Baby and Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett. We will lace up jumbo Gingerbread Cookies and decorate them for the holidays

December 21st: Reindeers Aglow

Come in for a shining story about one of your favorite Christmas friends- Rudolph! We will read Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Rudolph Shines Again by Robert Lewis May. We will make a reindeer ornament and a Christmas Light necklace. We will all be glowing!

December 28th: The New Year

Join us as we celebrate New Years a few days early! We will read New Year’s Day by David Marx and Just in Time for New Year’s by Karen Gray Ruelle. We will get ready for the New Year by making our own noisemakers.

Frogs Make a Great Christmas Gift! Have you seen our Frog Aquariums? These little self-contained ecosystems are the homes of cute African Dwarf Frogs. Each aquarium comes complete with living rock which keeps the tank clean, a stalk of bamboo which provides oxygen for the frogs, and at least two frogs. The complete aquarium is only $24.99!
These frogs make great pets because they are so easy to care for. You only need to clean the aquarium 3-4 times per year, and you only need to feed the frogs twice per week. They are fully-grown and all males. How easy is that?
We might run out before Christmas so we are taking pre-orders for the holiday season. Just come in or call to order your frog aquarium. You'll pay for your aquarium when you place your order, and you can pick it up from Dec. 19th-Dec. 23rd.
