Join Us For A Winter Workshop We have developed a new series of teacher workshops that we will be debuting this winter. Plus, we have brought back one of our most popular workshops for those of you who may have missed it the first time.
The cost for each workshop is only $25.00! This cost will cover the materials for all make-and-take projects. Plus, each attendee will receive a $10.00 voucher to use on the purchase of any in-stock products the day of the workshop. You must register in advance to attend. Winter Fun in the Early Childhood Classroom (For Grades PreK-1)
Wednesday, Jan. 6th 6:00-7:30 PM & Saturday, Jan. 9th 10:00-11:30 AM
Discover new ideas for old winter themes such as snowflakes, snowmen, polar animals, and more! Learn about cute class games, center activities, art projects, and thematic songs. Every attendee will make a snowman big book to take home and will receive a certificate of attendance.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Re-teach (For Grades PreK-3)

Start thinking outside the box! Learn how to reuse boxes, egg cartons, and plastic containers to create wonderful games for your class. Use these games as learning centers or whole class games to help re-teach the lessons you’ve been working on with your students. For each game, we will explore how to make various versions for different grade levels. Each attendee will make a game to take home and will receive a certificate of attendance.
Big Book Extravaganza (For Grades PreK-1) THIS IS A REPEAT WORKSHOP!

If you are an early childhood teacher in grades PreK-1, you will not want to miss this creative class which will focus on a spectacular make-and-take Big Book that you can take right to your classroom.
Each attendee will use accents to create their own Big Book copy of “Skip Counting” which focuses on counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. We will also discuss other innovative techniques that will allow you to make a variety of other Big Books personalized for your class and your curriculum. You will also receive great extension activities that can be used with the Big Books in your classroom. Each attendee will leave this workshop with a certificate of attendance.
“Expert” Early Childhood Ideas (For Grades PreK-2)

In this workshop, we will explore the most creative early childhood classroom ideas from some of the best experts in the field. Learn even more ways to make creative big books for your classroom in this sequel workshop to our popular “Big Book Extravaganza” class. Each attendee will make their own copy of “Five Little Birds” which teaches counting and number recognition. Each attendee will also receive a certificate of attendance.
Mailbox Mania for the Upper Grades (For Grades 4-8)

Let’s explore the best ideas that Mailbox has to offer for the upper grades! We’ll look at all types of classroom ideas appropriate for grades 4-8 including classroom organization and management, bulletin board displays, and activities for specific subjects such as language arts, math, and science. Each attendee will create a great math learning center game to take back to their classroom. Plus, each attendee will leave this workshop with a certificate of attendance.

12/16/2009 Newsletter: Frogs Have Arrived
The Frogs are Finally Here! We just wanted to make sure that everyone knows we've recently received several shipments and have lots of creat products in stock including the Frogs!
We have about a dozen in stock but we expect those to sell this weekend. So hurry in TODAY if you need to pick one up.
NOTE: If you pre-ordered frogs, we are holding yours in our backroom - come in anytime before the 23rd to pick them up.

New Preschool Opening Fall 2010!.jpg) A note from the owners: Queen of All Saints School will be opening a new preschool in the fall of 2010! Little Saints Academy will feature a developmentally appropriate curriculum that focuses on faith and builds social and academic success in each child. Staff will be trained in Project Construct to facilitate developmentally appropriate growth.

Story Hours Story hours at The Teachers' Lounge are highly interactive 1/2 hour sessions that focus on a selected weekly theme. Each story hour is filled with stories, games, songs, fingerplays, and art activities that promote early childhood skills for children ages 2-6. Parents are asked to stay within the store while children are participating in this activity.
Registration for story hours opens at noon on Monday for the following week. Just call the store at 314-894-7000 to register.

Come in for a shining story about one of your favorite Christmas friends- Rudolph! We will read Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Rudolph Shines Again by Robert Lewis May. We will make a reindeer ornament and a Christmas Light necklace. We will all be glowing!

Join us as we celebrate New Years a few days early! We will read New Year’s Day by David Marx and Just in Time for New Year’s by Karen Gray Ruelle. We will get ready for the New Year by making our own noisemakers.

Special Holiday Hours The Teachers lounge will be closing at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 13th.
We will also be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Santa Story Hour Join us for a special Santa's Story Hour on Saturday, Dec. 12th. Our 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM sessions for this story hour are already full, so we are opening a new session at 12:30 PM. We'll read some great Christmas stories, make a keepsake ornament, and visit with Santa. Bring your own camera to take some great pictures and grab a special Christmas goodie bag.
