 The Teachers' Lounge WILL BE OPEN ON LABOR DAY from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM! Stop by to pick up those last minute items that you need for your lesson plans next week.
Teachers Helping Joplin Teachers
 This is the last week that we will be collecting money to help our Joplin Teachers. Thanks so much to all of our customers who have contributed to our Joplin drive. You have donated $1,723.00 so far, and The Teachers' Lounge is matching your donations... so our grand total for Joplin to date is $3,446.00! Although we are still accepting monetary donations, we are no longer collecting classroom materials and books for Joplin at this time.
Our store manager, Kathy, has been working with the two first grade teachers whose classrooms we've adopted and has fulfilled many items from each of their wishlists. She even personally delivered the items to them before school started! We will continue to get our two teachers the items they need, plus we are hoping to grant a few wishes for other Joplin teachers as well.

Teacher Workshops Coming Soon
 Many of you have been asking for our fall workshop schedule, and we are happy to announce that it will be appearing in our newsletter next week! We will be bringing back some of our favorite classes and will be featuring some brand new ones as well.
Workshops at The Teachers' Lounge are only $25! This price includes a make-and-take activity and a $10 voucher to use in the store the day of your class. Plus, you will earn 1.5 professional development hours at each workshop. What a deal!

During the busy back-to-school season, participants guessed how many feet of lamination were run at the store during the week of August 8th. The facebook follower with the closest guess each day was awarded a $10 gift card! Congratulations to our lucky winners: Amy Bequette-McFarland, Jennifer Wyatt, Wendy Zeidler, Jennifer Dalton, and Noelle Trueman.

The Teachers' Lounge will be hosting a special contest exclusively for our Facebook Followers next week, August 8th-12th. Remember to "Like" us to be eligible to win.
The second week of August is always our busiest time for lamination at the store. Visit our facebook page Monday-Friday. We will post a status on our wall asking our followers to guess how many feet of lamination we will be running for our customers at the store that day. Comment on our post with your best guess. Each of our followers can make one guess per day.
The person who makes the closest guess without going over will win a $10 gift card to The Teachers' Lounge! If we have more than one correct guess, a winner from the correct answers will be drawn randomly. Good luck to all!
Teachers Helping Joplin Teachers
The Teachers' Lounge has adopted two First Grade classrooms that were destroyed by the Joplin tornado earlier this year. And, we have been asking our customers to lend a helping hand by donating $1 to our teachers.
We just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity. We have already collected a little over $1,000 for our two classrooms! Plus, The Teachers' Lounge will be matching these donations-- so right now, we will have over $2,000 to give to our two classrooms! Our Joplin teachers have been sending us their wish lists, and we have been trying to get them everything they need for a successful school year with their students.
We will continue collecting donations at the store through Labor Day. Thanks so much for all of your help with this project. Our customers are so wonderful!
Joplin Donations
 Our awesome store manager, Kathy, will be heading down to Joplin this Thursday to deliver some of the school supplies to our two first grade classrooms. If anyone has any new or gently used teaching or school items that they would like to donate to the Joplin schools, Kathy would be happy to take them for you. You can drop your items off at The Teachers' Lounge by Wednesday, August 10th at 6:00 PM. Thanks so much for helping our Joplin schools!

 We will be opening at 9:00 AM August 1st - 19th for all of our back-to-school shoppers! Get a head start on your day as you start decorating and preparing your classrooms.
Please note that these early bird hours will be taking place Mondays-Fridays only. On Saturdays, we will be open from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and on Sundays, we will be open from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
