Go KamiKaze

Teachers-Ready-for-Easter-Break-Already, here are a few questions worth asking yourself today:

Has March lulled you into too many state-test drills, squeezing out the evidence of inspirational educating in your classroom?

What memorable moment are you going to make for your students today?

How are you going to embarrass yourself to make a point, think outside-the-box in an effort to teach a lesson, or close the book and make learning come to life?

The following is an example of a high school history teacher, willing to stick on a helmet and fling himself . . . well, I won’t ruin it.  Watch it, and be inspired to make today worth remembering in your classroom.

What is the most creative thing you’ve ever done in the classroom?

mine, too! wouldn’t you have loved a teacher like that in highschool? i’m sure his everyday wasn’t that exciting, but i bet those kids never forgot what a kamikaze pilot was!

This video is great! No one ever remembers taking notes, but they will remember a teacher crashing into some cardboard!

I know lots of people do poetry cafes, but the one I did a few years ago rocked. Let me tell you it wasn’t because of the amazing poetry. It was because of all the little details that made the cafe experience. Kids begged to do it again because they liked the coffee house feel.
