10/05/2009 Newsletter: Lizzie's Take and Make Kits Now Available

Lizzie's Take and Make Kits

Many of our customers who have been attending our workshops over the past two years have been asking us to develop a way for them to recreate the handmade samples that we show during our classes. So, we have created "Lizzie's Make and Take Kits". These kits contain every single piece that you need to make the big books, file folder games, and learning centers that you have seen at The Teachers' Lounge workshops.

We are currently selling kits from our newest workshop "Fall Fun in the Early Childhood Classroom". We have several big book kits including: Falling Leaves, What Do You See?, I Spy A Mouse In A Haunted House, and Five Little Squirrels. Our file folder games include: Pumpkin Patch Color Match and Pumpkin Letter Match. Our learning centers include: Harvesting New Words, Leaf Match-Up, and Trick or Treat Patterning. Stop by soon for the best selection because we have a limited quantity of kits available. You won't want to miss out on these cute classroom resources.

Mavalus Tape and our Video

We are hitting the streets this week to deliver free rolls of Mavalus Tape to local teachers who sent us emails during the past two weeks. We recieved a ton of requests explaining why many teachers really need this great tape. Although we will not be able to get samples to everyone, we have chosen 50 local teachers who will be receiving a free roll! Maybe you'll see us at your school this week!

Teacher Workshops

There are still some spots available in our fall workshops. Call soon for the best selection of dates because they are filling up quickly.

The cost for each workshop is $25. This cost will cover the materials for all make-and-take projects. Plus, each attendee will receive a $10 voucher to use on the purchase of any in-stock products the day of the workshop. Please call the store at 314-894-7000 to register. Space is limited.

 Monday, October 19th 6:00-7:30 PM AND Wednesday, October 21st 6:00-7:30 PM

Creative Learning Centers For The Busy Teacher- This workshop will give you ideas on how you can incorporate learning centers into your curriculum. We will also show you a ton of creative learning centers that you can easily make for your students. Plus, everyone will leave with a make and take center and a certificate of attendance.

Story Hours

 Oct. 12 & 15: Black Cats Story Hour

It is the month for black cats!  We will read The Halloween Kittens by Maggie Kneen, The Halloween Cat by Chrisine Ricci and Moonlight: the Halloween Cat  by Cynthia Rylant. We will make a cat that likes to “hang” around.
